Our Story

This website is owned and operated by a registered dietitian, licensed Nutritionist in the state of Massachusetts with decades of experience in institutional food service for both patients and employees, cafeteria food service and fine dining. We are passionate about food and excited to share the wealth of knowledge we amassed through the years through our blogs.  As a child I wondered how they knew what nutrients food contained and what the nutrients did for you. After many college courses in chemistry, biology, food etc., I got my answer.  If you too have been wondering you will find our information on “why eat” extremely valuable.

Founder & CEO

Ionie Ponde, MS, RD, LDN brings to this endeavor decades of experience in institutional foodservice for inpatients and employees which included brightening up the lives of nursing home residents with fine dining experience, literally bringing the 5-star dining experience to the shut in. Awed company employees with elaborate buffets and for a short while taught cooking and delivered nutrition talks to high school students. Have a passion for all things food done well!!
